What makes you happy?

Is it the multi-million figure in the bank account? Is it the property you own and the comforts you enjoy? Poor people may feel if they get money and property they will be happy. Sick people will feel if they had good health they would have been happy. But are the wealthy and healthy people really happy from within? I don’t think so. Every now and then they make headlines in the news for all other reasons.
The happiness I am referring is not the feeling that goes away. Real happiness is not achieved with materials or name and fame. A child may feel happy when it gets a chocolate or ice-cream and it goes away when the chocolate gets over. Same thing happens with any happiness that is attached with the matter. The moment one realizes this truth and starts searching for real happiness, he has taken a good step. But, the journey is not easy and everyone doesn’t recognize the actual route to happiness.
The path to the happiness lies in spirituality and not in materialism. People don’t consider spirituality now-a-days as they are fully immersed in their bodily relations and attachments. They simply don’t have “time” for spirituality. It’s true that only the fortunate ones recognize this path. Even while performing the daily tasks and living in a family and earning their livelihood, these people have the eternal bliss and that is the happiness I mean.
